how is AMD FX-4130 compared to 2 quad q9550?

i have 2 quad q9550 i just came across with the AMD FX-4130 and just wondering how big of a difference there is ?
dedicated server with this amd cpu 16Gb ram and 2TB memory worth about 200$?

The difference in performance is very small. So keep your Core 2 quad or upgrade to something better like the FX 6300.

The FX4130 is slightly better but you'll need a new mobo. It's not worth the switch.

If you are looking at an upgrade, forget AMD. Period. They don't offer anything, in 2014, much better than Intel's Core 2 Quads from 2008.

Get an Intel i5, or even i3 based system. Pair it with a cheap $50 H81 motherboard, buy some DDR3 RAM, reinstall Windows, and you just majorly upgraded your system. That's what i'd do.

FX 4130 is $80-100 new. 16GB of ram is $100-120 and 2TB HDD is $80. You still have to add cost of mobo, case and psu.

Oh yeah. The E3-1230v2 is MILES beyond the FX-4130. That CPU is essentially an Ivy Bridge i7.

The FX is about 2% better... which may not seem much of a difference, but you'll have to add other components and consider old against new technology, and new most always wins.

Then go with the Xeon for sure. You will need a dedicated GPU to go with it, but any PCI-E gpu will work for that.
