I am looking to build a gaming desktop to play FPS games, RPG games, strategy games and others like this. Examples are Dark Souls, Skyrim, Battlefield, Borderlands and Destiny. I am getting someone to help build my desktop with me but i just need to know what type of parts i should be looking to get and what specs they should have for this type of gaming. Thanks.

You have a great gaming processor with one of the best coolers out there in this build. An SLI compatible motherboard with up to 7.1 channel on-board sound. An SLI-ready power supply built by Seasonic (XFX designed and branded) and ready for another 780 at some point. An SSD for your OS and system utilities. A 1TB WD Black drive for apps and data with a great warranty. An excellent 144Hz gaming monitor and a GTX 780 to drive it. A great FPS gaming mouse.

Where I cut costs to stay near $2000:
A decent case to give you a view of your components. It's still a quality case, though I like NZXT's larger offerings. A decent non-mechanical gaming keyboard. 1TB HDD instead of 2. A Samsung non-Pro version of the SSD.
