If your running Win8
Then go into BIOS and turn on integrated graphics on again. Remember to Save and Exit Reboot
Raport if it works or not.

Edit: I read that there is default problem with that Laptop.
The External GPU is contradicting with CPU Integrated GPU.
Still you cannot deactivate the Int. GPU cause it passses everything to the NV GPU, which works in some games.
So it always get passed 1st to the Int. GPU. then it passes out to the rest.
Just google it: Lenovo y510p Integrated Graphics.

I would advise to you, to get refund or exchange laptop to some other, if you still have it on warranty.
Stating to them, that the Laptop has an manufacturing build/use defect.

If it isn't any longer on warranty and you cannot exchange it then, we will try to figure something out.
Try to do what I said about turning it back on in BIOS like I wrote.
(supposly Int. GPU render the Aero and Display, so it have to be enabled.)
Raport if it works.
