I just received the parts for my new pc build today and I installed everything like normal, but when I went to turn on the pc (the grfx card being plugged in through hdmi) I got no signal. I took the panel off and turned it on again and I noticed the fan wasnt spinning, It requires 450w supply and I got a 500w installed. any help would be a preciated.

Have you plugged the gfx card into the PSU? A discrete GPU has a power cable running from the PSU to the gfx card itself, near the front of the card, often times more than one. It should be identified by a yellow colored cable labeled PCIe with either 6 or 8 pins. Some cards have multiple cables. If it is plugged in, double check to ensure the card wattage and the CPU wattage is under 500watts. Typically you would take the CPU wattage, and the GPU wattage, add them together and multiply by 2, since the PSU is more efficient at about 50% load. If you have all this and everything is normal, you may need to seek an RMA for a faulty gfx card.

Hope this helps.

I was wondering about the psu myself, could it be that I should invest in a 600w psu? and yes I reset the card into 2 different spots even added the old gt 610 card I got with my old pc, I do have the grfx card plugged in and its a 6 pin connector, I noticed that the case fans barely pull air also? could it be that I need a beefier psu? thanks again for the help.

Thats a possibility, 600 - 650 watts is probably more than enough and they dont cost all that much. If the case fans are barely running it might be caused by lack of power. I will also add there isnt really a drawback to getting more power than you need other than spending a bit more. In this case going from 500 to 600 isnt that much difference in price.

I think I may have my problem solved, appearntly the psu I got wasnt as good a quality (raidmax psu) and others suggest that maybe I should get a better one? I think the cx600 should do the trick.
