Lately my computer has been completely shutting off only while I'm playing games I'm unsure if its my graphics card or not I have a GT420 that came with my computer I know its a low-end outdated card but I really can't afford to upgrade so I'd rather try all the possibilities to get my computer working properly again.
About 2 months ago I brought/modded DayZ and everything was fine played about 60 hours of it in that week and then I stopped playing for a bit over a month to study and I'm only using my computer at this point to study, download & videos and it hasn't crashed on my at all and I can have my computer running as long as I'd like (24-7 due to studies) but as soon as I start playing a game it won't stay on for longer than 5 minutes I've tried playing different games so I know its not just DayZ dusted my computer took it apart and tried running it without the case and it still keeps doing it and the last time it shut off my fan stopped working but my GPU temp is roughly the same as when the fan stopped working 45-55°C (idle) and room temp is about 12-15°C but it was fine all through summer where I was playing WoW daily for 2 months 30-35°C the highest I've been able to check it before its crashed was 71°C but shouldn't it be able to handle more than that? some research told me it might be my PSU but I'm still unsure.

And after doing some research 70c is way too high for a stock clock i would turn your graphics settings way down it should only hit 60c under load 70c is considered unsafe for that gpu. And that could very well be crashing your system but if u could figure out your specs i could give you a better anwser.

Oh
Intel Core i5 2300
4gb ram
Windows 8.1 pro 64-bit

I always run games with the graphics set low and I've never encountered this problem until about a week ago.
