Hey everyone, I recently learned that my cpu may be bottlenecking my GTX 780ti, so I wanted to upgrade. I ideally want to spend $400 or less, and I am looking for high end for games. Thanks!

SPECS:
Graphics Card: Nvidia GTX 780ti
Processor: Intel QuadCore i5-2400 @ 3.1GHz
Motherboard: Gigabyte P67X-UD3-B3
Ram: 16 GB DDR3

If he has a budget of $400, you will get better performance out of an i7-4790K.

And you would want a Z97 motherboard to pair with the i7-4790K, so you are future-proofed to run Broadwell CPUs in a year.

4790k cpu + z97 motherboard would be over $400

He said hes gaming he doesnt need an i7 for that peroid. and the choice between the 3570k and 4670k is up too you there pretty much the same thing i just prefer the new haswell architecture to the ivy bridge.

Exactly. There's your answer.

Haswell only provided about a 5% increase in CPU performance, and a i7-3770K would give you a lot more performance without even having to buy a new motherboard.
