Hello,

So I just put together a new rig. Everything was NIB except my GPU, I had brought it over from my previous build.

The problem: After I completed the build, everything booted up perfectly. I had BIOS run at default-optimal settings, then installed my OS through my disk drive. After I installed my GPU driver and it was installed-black screen. I started up in safe mode, deleted the GPU software, worked fine again. This happens when I also try to install windows updates. The monitor is on, but shows a black screen. (It shows the startup screen from boot though)

Things I've tried:

1)Re-Installed GPU
2)Reset BIOS settings to default
3)Unplugged everything from rear
4)Re-Seated GPU
5)Reset monitor settings
6)Reset resolution settings
7)Unplugged monitor/restarted/plugged into different display port.

My build:

CPU: Intel core i5 4670 3.4ghz LGA1150
Motherboard: ASUS Z97-A
Mem: Corsair Vengeance 8GB DDR3
HDD: WD Black 1TB 7200RPM
SSD: Corsair 120GB Vengeance
PSU: EVGA Supernova 850
GPU: EVGA GTX 770 2GB SC
Liquid cooler: Corsair h100i
Case fans: Corsair x2 H140 x1 H120
Chassis: Corsair 450D
OS: Windows 7 Home Premium
Display: Samsung SyncMaster XL2270

So, I'm at a dead end. If I were to uninstall everything and start fresh-it would work. But when I do updates(which I have to, or no gaming) the monitor won't display.

Please help!

*also, after the GPU updated and failure, my backlight LED's on my keyboard stopped working-besides the light adjustment button and Multimedia/volume buttons. It's a Corsair k95*

I can post pictures if need be when I get home, in posting from my phone.

*Update*

I used my 2ndary monitor and made it my main using an HDMI connection - Windows update and GPU update went through.. Seems it was my monitor? Though I'm confused because it worked fine on the previous build. Perhaps it's not compatible with the newer items I installed? I don't really have the money to replace it after just building this new rig.. (This monitor is about 2 years newer and is both LED-TV/Monitor capable)

Also, my keyboard LED's are still not working >.<
