I am going to build a computer and was wondering if i should get a 2 tb hdd, 120 gb ssd, and a r9 270x or a 2 tb hdd and a r9 280? i was wondering if the loss of speed would be worth the gain in proformance or not?

If you care about your gaming performance then get the video card. If you care about load times/boot times then get the SSD. It really depends on your priorities, and it's not really something others can answer for you. Just keep in mind that the SSD doesn't change game performance essentially at all. It will make things load quickly, like in between levels and maps and things but the actual gameplay won't be different.

the performance difference between those two cards will be about 15-20 fps (sometimes more depending on the game), what you could do if you're short on budget is get a 280/280x and get a 2tb hybrid drive...they're almost half the speed of say a Samsung 840 evo, boot times (Windows 8/8.1) are only 1 second faster on an SSD than a hybrid
