Hey guys

Since GTA V for the PC was announced and a lot of games these days are graphically intensive, I decides that it is time for an upgrade.

I did some research and ran into a few things.
My PSU might not have enough power and my case might be just a little bit too small.

Anyways, I have a few questions.

Firstly, Is it possible to move components from my current PC to a new case and add a new PSU?

Secondly, What is a good graphics card?
My budget for a graphics card is between 100-200$.
I'm interested in the GTX 750 Ti EVGA SC but there are probably better cards out there.
It also brings me back to the PSU and case problem.

I obviously don't want to buy a new PSU or case if I don't have to.
Here are my current specs:
CPU: Intel Core i5-2320
GPU: AMD Radeon HD 7570
RAM: 4GB DDR3 RAM
OS: Windows 7 64-Bit
PSU: FSP350-60EMDN 350w
MOTHERBOARD: MS-7728

Thanks in advance!

if you get the 750 Ti you won't have to change out your PSU. minimum requirement is 300w and works well with most basic PSUs. also, it doesn't require a 6-pin power connector

I heard from other people that getting a new PSU is probably a good idea because if the PSU is using too much watt it might damage the hardware.
I'm not exactly sure thought.

If my PSU is fine then the last problem is the case.
I'm sure it will fit since it's only 10 inch in lenght but I'm not too sure how thick the card is including the attached fan.
I guess I can post a picture of the case and internals so you know what I'm talking about.

well the people who told you about the PSU are right. having a name brand and comfortable wattage is ideal...but yeah if you want to send a picture that'd be fine. ill look up some dimensions on your current card and the EVGA one. I'm almost positive it should fit regardless. what is the exact brand of your card?

Here is a picture of the motherboard.
Above the large fan you can see the current gpu which is the Radeon HD 7570.
Above that is the power supply.
What worries me is that the card might not fit over the silver part above the video card.

Also, Is there a way to find out if the card is compatible with my motherboard?

if your motherboard is PCI-E 2.0 compatible then it will be 3.0 compatible. regarding the "silver part" yes its tough to tell how much space you would have with the 750 ti. it will fit any other way which is nice. sorry i can't help much more. you could try finding another brand of 750 Ti. i looked at a Gigabyte brand that looked like it would work...

I checked all the GTX 750 Ti brands and the EVGA SC was the smallest one.
Anyways, Thanks for helping!

I also did some research on a PSU and the Corsair CX430 (430 watt) looks nice anf cheap

thats a good choice for an upgrade. relatively light on the wallet and should fit in most, if not all computers (excluding small form factor pcs).

I'm probably going for the Radeon R9 270 since it's slightly better.
Will this cause any problems with any of the other system components?

I also decided to get a different PSU thta has 550w.

that should work fine, you have a quad core processor so you won't have to worry about bottlenecking. you should have enough room as well to fit the card inside the case. best of luck!

Sorry for all the questions but I want to be 100% sure of choosing the right card.

A card that is better and is just a couple of bucks more expensive than the R9 270 is the Sapphire Radeon HD 7950.
I've heard that this card blows a lot of heat into the case which is bad if you have a small one.
If I get the 7950 will that be a problem?
If yes, will the same problem occur with the R9 270?

which brand did you want to go with? also, if you have sufficient airflow going out of your case you shouldnt have that much of a problem.

Allright so I'm going to get the
SAPPHIRE HD 7950 3GB with Boost .
Does anyone know if it requires a 6-Pin connector?

The PSU I'm getting with it is the XFX PRO550W.

If the card doesn't fit in my current case or if it gets too hot I will get a new case like the cooler master K-380.

If you have a better idea, Suggestions are always welcome since I obviously want good performance.

Look at the gpu benchmarks the 7950 has higher preformance for not alot of cash. If you're looking for a new case, I would recomend the cit galaxy evo it's a mid tower so it should fit your graphics card and you can find them on scan.co.uk for £30 a bargin if you ask me.

Thanks for the case suggestions.
Good airflow is important so that certainly is something I will keep in mind when selecting a case.
The only troublesome thing is moving all the components to a new case since I'm not a professional.
I know what everything is and what the cables do so I should be able to figure it out even thought I never built a PC before.
