Hi all,
I have an Acer Aspire V3-551G-X419 w/ AMD Radeon HD 7660G + 7670M cards.
I recently went to update my drivers and this required installing Catalyst Control Center which I didn't have previously. Everything installed fine and upon rebooting I realized that the HDMI sound option had completely disappearsed. Going into my device manager, I see that the HDMI option is only viewable under Show Hidden Devices and clicking on it says that the hardware device is not connected (which is not true, since the video displays just fine). Cataylst doesn't seem to have any options for audio.
I've tried uninstalling the new drivers and while this brings back the HDMI sound option, it causes display problems, notably: I cannot start steam or watch videos from my desktop. From this point, I also tried installing the VGA drivers from Acer's site, but this presented the same problems, sounds but display issues. I also tried installing the audio drivers from Acer's website with the new display drivers installed but no luck with that either.
I'm out of ideas of what could be causing this. Could anybody please help me out?
