Pretty much whats been stated xD, I was thinking of getting a more budget Intel build... i3 4130 and a MSI Z87 board etc, not sure? It seems the 4130 is just ridiculous performance and price wise.
The i3 is better in a lot of games, but of course there will be times when the i3 gets killed. I no longer recommend any FX though. They are getting outdated fast.
The 8350 is better than a i3, f6300 are about on the same level, but intel has a much better upgrade path as there will be no more new processors for the amd fx series.
Yeah a lot of it is depending on the game but I don't know I just notice the 4130 benchmarking something ridiculous VS the FX line and that kinda makes the FX series look pretty bad....

And while it doesn't directly compare the 6300/8350, being up to par with the 4690k in certain games is definitely impressive. I mean, it isn't a new i3, but it's the new Pentium.
For gaming, it certainly is respectable in every aspect, even in the games that are optimized for multiple threads and cores. For more utility-task orientated things, like encoding/compressing, the extra cores shine ahead.
