Haven't made a new thread here in what two years lol, well anyway time to fire away.

For me the generation that really got me in the business was during the time of the legendary 8800GTX/Ultra and so I'll name that as a favorite lol. I still remember THG all those years ago and how different it is now, big time noob zone now lol.

My first decent card, well that could run Counter Strike 1 nicely lol. That was a RIVA TNT2 but my fav would've been my Nvidia 6800GT, it was a beast!

for now the gk110(780s) are just beasts at overclocking and probably the best overclocking gpu chip ever made and remind me of sandy bridge cpus. what i find funny is that comparing a reference clocked 780 at 900mhz to a 1.3ghz overclock, you are in a sense adding the 100% speed of a 9800gt with just an overclock, which kinda sounds pretty insane. the unlocked 6950s were kinda cool since the non laser cut ones could be unlocked to a 6970, plus your average overclock made them a really sweet deal for those who had them.

dont know much about earlier than 2011 stuff though. it was sometime in late 2009/early 2010 when i saw the first crysis game on a computer with a 1080p computer screen(not sure what the settings were, im confidently assuming it wasn't maxed out) was when i started feeling jealous and dated with the ps3/360 and about a year later when sandy bridge dropped was when i built my current computer. all ive done is changed out ssd/hdd and graphics cards.

The Leadtek Ti 4600. The card I used in the first desktop I built myself.
