I"ve recently gotten an HDMI cable to hook up my 27" monitor, really nice one, but I can't find the HDMI hook up in the back of my computer, does anyone know if the GATEWAY FX series has one or is my computer so old they didn't make them a few years ago?

Gateway's FX lineup includes many different models (towers and laptops) some models did not feature HDMI, it is likely yours is one of those models

If your computer is a desktop and has a PCIe slot available, the addition of an inexpensive (~$30) graphics card may be an option for you. Like the
EVGA NVidia GeForce 210 512MB
or the
XFX AMD Radeon HD 5450
both of which are low profile ready which means they should fit in even smaller towers.
Just an option to consider.

Nothing to do with the age, but not all computers have all the connection you may want. My car does not have a sunroof, that does not mean it's so old it was made before they had sunroofs on cars.
