Basically when I got this laptop about a bit before christmas, the computers run fine, but the first wi-fi internet connection that I connected to was my house, ive had this problem since I first connected it, but it was basically nothing so I said nothing. though its been slowly getting worse ex. it happens faster. It is not my router since my (brothers) hp laptop connects just fine. my ipid works fine, dads kindle, moms nook, moms two laptops, they all work fine. It also only happens on this internet connection.
Ive tried:
Forgetting the network then reconnecting, that stopped it for a couple days but it still happens, and its just getting eally annoying. It also takes longer to turn to limited when using lan ex: Playing Minecraft with my little brother. It will still happen but takes longer time.

I am using a Gateway Windows 8.1 (problem still happened in 8) 4 Ram 3.82 usable. 2.20 GHz
64 bit operating system.
All other internets work fine.

Also the link you posted it looks like mine and is mostly like mine except it has more memory more ram and .10 more Ghz dont know if this would effect anything found.

The laptop has IEEE 802.11b/g/n - up to 150 mbps wireless working up to about 200ft away from the router.

There is no performance data for the router.

You could improve the laptop's reception by keeping near the router and/or using an ethernet cable rather than wifi.

You could also improve its wifi capability by using and external wifi card eg http://www.pccasegear.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=200_328&products_id=17145 and not having walls, floors and doors between the laptop and router.

You can also call Hughes Customer Care at 1 (866) 347-3292 to get help.
