Looking to add a dedicated card but not sure what will work. Current budget is 130 usd

if you can get an R7 265 under budget, then that would be your best choice, the level up from the 260X but costs more. If too much, then get the 260X.

270 probably. Remember that the iGPU in the APU is not very powerful; it won't be contributing much and might actually hold the 270 back.

well the way CF works (I'm pretty sure) is that each graphics card renders different frames. Like 1 card renders odd frames and the other renders even. So here, if you pair a very powerful card with a weak card, the 270 and iGPU, the iGPU will render frames slower and lead to some frames taking longer to render, which will cause frame pacing issues. Honestly the most I have heard AMD recommend to pair with an APU is a R7 250. If you go for a 270 just disable the iGPU.

hmm, what about the a-10 7850k kaveri? i mean i would hope it can handle a r9


Nope. R7 250 is the most it can crossfire with, and you're still better off just getting a 260 if you can. Dual graphics has been a real let down so far :(

Nope. R7 250 is the most it can crossfire with, and you're still better off just getting a 260 if you can. Dual graphics has been a real let down so far :(
