Hi guys, first post here!

I recentely sold my xbox one and i am looking to either buy a fully built gaming pc, or build one. I am happy to buy a fully built one as long as i will be able to upgrade it throughout time.

I want a pc with these specs ideally so i can play FIFA15 on the new ignite engine.
CPU: Intel i5-2550K @ 3.4Ghz
RAM: 8GB
Hard Drive Space Required: 15.0 GB
Supported Video Cards: ATI Radeon HD 6870, NVIDIA GTX 460
DirectX: 11.0

Im not after the exact products just something to work around.

I have seen this that i like:
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/141231574435?ssPageName=STRK:...

Price range £400 maximum.

Please help me.

An A8 with just integrated graphics won't meet the specs for FIFA.

You won't get much even for 500 quid. Save some more. Post back when you've got 800.

This is OK (in US) - http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/build-your-own-budg.... Just drop from gtx 770 to 760 and it comes to $700 in US. Put the parts in PartPicker UK to see what it'd cost.

What about using a intel-4670k processor and msi-787-g45 motherboard and building from there?

Sounds good. Or an i5 4690k and ASRock Z97 Extreme 4 - even better.

As for cost effectiveness i think i will stick to the msi!! Thank you for your help. :)

This is my build proposal:
i5 4670k
zalman cnps5x (do i need one right away?)
Msi-787-g45
Corsair Vengeance 8GB ( 2 x 4GB ) Memory DDR3 1600 MHz DIMM 240pin RAM CL9 LP
Western Digital Caviar blue (1tb)

I am waiting on a friend to get back to me about his second hand graphics card
and I need a power supply (suggestions? low price)
and a case (cheap as i can upgrade at a later date)
and a disc drive (does it matter what one?)

Shopping at Novatech?

Try a coolermaster hyper 212 evo for the i5.

Its a MSI Z87 mobo, not 787. They are now replaced with Z97.

You need to know what graphics card to determine what size power supply.

I just purchased the Msi z87 mobo for £57 with £8 shipping from eBay.
The intel i5 4670k can also be picked up for £140

How well will the above cope with new upcoming games such as GTAV?

It was the Msi-z87-g45 Gaming mobo.

I was looking at CPU fans undecided on which one, 2 people have recommended the Cooler Master 212 EVO. What would you suggest? :)  I really appreciate all the help guys.

And the graphics card i can get from my friend is his old nvidia GeForce GTX 650 ti, costing only £25 you think i should start with that? Which leads me on to the next question of power supply!

The coolermaster hyper 212 evo is good. and cheap. Noctua are better but cost more.

Get whatever graphics card you can afford. Make sure the powers supply is compatible.

For cooling here are my recommendations:

1. Noctua NH-D14/15
2. Noctua NH-U14S [Great Experience with it]
3. Corsair H100i
4. Cooler Master V8 GTS
5. Cooler Master 212 Evo

For GPU, 650Ti can be a good start but remember gtx 750Ti easily beats the 650Ti. So better stick with that

Thank you for your help EasyLover. sorry another question.

As for the RAM i am looking at the Corsair Vengeance Pro 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1866 Memory.

Anything you can suggest better for about the same price?

Stick with this RAM it is a good value for your money. G.Skill RipJaw X is expensive than this.

When looking at the memory what does the speed matter like the two options are: DDR3-1600 and the DDR3-1866 what is the relevance of this information.

1600 or 1866 is the speed of the RAM. Without going into details, more speed the better (I wish I could keep the CAS timings constant here :)  )

when choosing the SSD, why would you recommend samsung over other brands? What can anyone else suggest? Also is there anywhere where i can make like a build progress thread?

Samsung 840 EVO is a best value for your bucks. Google it and read the reviews. There are other brands as well like Kingston HyperX, Corsair GS Force 3 series, Mushkin, Crucial etc. But Samsung is mostly recommended.

I'm using Corsair LS 240 GB and Samsung 840 EVO 250GB. Samsung SSD produces much better results.

It was my recommendation only. You may consider whichever SSD appeals you. Pl do read the review of your chosen SSD before buying.

Another question guys.

As for the OS, i am undecided between Windows 7 home premium or Windows 8.1, Windows 7 seems to be a popular choice however wouldnt 8.1 be future proof in a sense.

Also there is a massive price difference between buying hard copies compared to downloadble copies. Anyone point in the right direction here?

It is individual experience. I like Windows 7 and that's why I'm using Windows 7 Ultimate Edition x64. It is upto you to decide which OS it is. Buy from wherever you find it cheap.

So you would say a downloadable copy with activation key from like ebay compared with a hard copy from pc world both will be the same? Thanks for your help once again.

Yes. Actually the content is same. What differs is the license key.

Would there be any harm in buying a 550w power supply instead of 450w so i have room for future upgrades?

June 17, 2014 8:31:30 PM

No harm but for future upgrades 550W may not be enough. Again it would depend upon your preference of future upgrade. If you are planning to use two GPUs in future then 550W would not be sufficient.
