You do run more risk with 2nd hand, as likely there will be a limited or no warranty cover if it breaks. And the fact it's been used means you don't know what condition it will be in, the seller may have overclocked it heavily for an extended period & it could be in need of repair/maintenance i.e new thermal paste. Anyway....
