The ASUS R9 280X would be the fastest of them all and the coolest out of the two R9 280Xs you listed.

I would get the ASUS DirectCUII version of the 280x. It's a good deal better than the 760, and the extra gig of VRAM will be nice for future-proofing or future Crossfire.

Gonna say it again, since it seems to be brought up in every single thread. There is no thing as future proofing. Stop it.

That being said you can't go wrong with either 280xs. Sapphire usually makes some of the best AMD cards, but if you hadn't noticed, it's a tad bit longer, and it might (haven't double checked) require more power.

r9 280xs are more equivalent to a GTX 770, so the 760s aren't even an option if it's between a 280x and a 760.

No, but 3GB of VRAM will last longer than 2, and the 280x will last longer than the 760, therefore being more future-resistant (I guess is a better word). You also need 3GB to even have the option for Ultra in Watch Dogs.

The Asus CU 280X is the pick, make sure you have a PSU that can carry it, will want at least a 550 that has 30 or more AMPs on the 12 volt rail. ;)
