Underscore for 30 sec

Hi just upgraded my build and after bios I'm getting a underscore for like 30 seconds then goes to windows is that normal?
Windows 8.1
Asrock z77-extreme 4m
3570k
Crucial m500

If not it can be a hundred diffrent things are you sure its not in RAID mode? Do you have a HDD hooked up too? Your BIOS might need an update there could be a problem with the OS and it might need to be re installed.

Are you sure the ssd is plugged into the sata 3 port on your motherboard? some motherboards have sata 2 and 3 ports and if you plugged the ssd into a sata 2 port that could slow things down look at your motherboards manual to make sure its in the right place.

Ok im pretty new to this is the gray or black port sata 3?in the manual its saying the gray is but i put it in the black one and worked fine the underscore popped up for like a second and it ran into windows.
