Xeon higher mhz ram?

Was thinking of getting xeon e3 1230(v3 or v4 when out)
I have heard rumors about it only supporting 1600mhz or lower. Is it true or false?
Would i be able to run 2133 ram on the xeon?

Yes, you will be able to run it. It isn't necessary, but you can. Ram speed is dictated by motherboard.

So as long as i get z87/z97 motherboard, it will run fine? Thats great - i was already planning on getting z87/z97 for better crossfire/sli and all kinds of nice features to go along

Also about it not being necessary - i might run a ramdisk or something like that to host a server, only a small one though and not 24/7
Will cas latency matter for a ramdisk btw?

You would probably be better off picking up a cheap SSD over using a ramdisk.

Already have 250gb ssd, and i have heard using ramdisk for a small server would help on loading faster. It will be a small minecraft server with me and my friends, but thanks for the help
