Hey, so basically I just completed my first pc build and finally got everything setup, but now my processor temps are worrying me some. I have the stock cooler on an AMD fx-6300 and it is idling at 65 degrees Celsius. From what I understand that should be about its max that it ever hits. Right now I am worried to play any games or do much with the pc in fear that im going to burn up my processor if it is taxed at all. Any ideas why it is so high?

What are you using to measure your temps? Software monitoring can be inaccurate.

An Understanding of Temperature on AMD CPUs and APUs
Does HWMonitor say your CPU/APU temp is 70C when idling but your CPU socket feels cool to the touch? Is Core Temp only reading 10C but it's not possible because your room is 28C? The reason is that these and other 3rd party programs are not... See full content

So I downloaded that AMD Overdrive and it reads my cores to be about 20 degrees Celsius. So does this mean that i dont have any true heat threat, just the fans i am using are noisy?

It says 20C thermal margin which is the distance until you get throttled due to high temperature. Is that under load or idle?

You probably just need better cooler.
