I have two questions, one is about the motherboard I bought/the company and the other is about the BIOS.

1: How good is the motherboard I purchased? Its the MSI Z97-G45 Gaming motherboard. I have read some pretty negative things about MSI and their QC and customer service. Was there a better motherboard or motherboard company I should have bought from?

2: When I install a new motherboard and the rest of the parts, do I need to do anything with the BIOS screen before or after installing my OS?

Solution
well,i heard some msi mainboard negative things before, but my friend and I use msi mainboard 5 years ago, nothing happen.
and the Average Failure rates is more better than before(tom's topic.....)
- Gigabyte 1,43% (vs 1,19% year before)

- MSI 1,83% (vs 3,05% year before)

- ASUS 1,86% (vs 1,79% year before)

- ASRock 2,09% (vs 2,09% year before)
