My laptop has suddenly gone dim at startup. Its all bright and fine until I move the mouse cursor, then everything goes dim.
The second issue is that my laptop sound is stuck on mute. And also cant find any networks on windows/ cant connect to the Internet. Windows 7 has gone into that old school look.

This occured in the morning when my laptop hung and restarted a few times in which it was very slow and un responsive. I hit the power button and ran it on last known good configuration. Since then it has been dim. However its bright when I run it on safe mode but the sound and networks dont work.

I ran msconfig and I see these 3 things are stopped- windows audio, Microsoft network inspection and task scheduler

Im using my phone to type this. Please help. Cheers

Start > Run > cmd and type devmgmt.msc this will bring up the Device Manager console
Locate Network adapter and expand, check to see if the network devices is disable (right-click to Enable)
Locate Sound, video and game controllers and expand, check to see if audio device is disable (right-click to Enable)

To reset the Windows audio and Network services
Start > Run > cmd and type
net stop audiosrv
net start audiosrv

netsh int ip set address name="Local Area Connection" dhcp
netsh int ip set address name="Wireless Network Connection" dhcp

To renew ip address
ipconfig /flushdns
ipconfig /release
ipconfig /renew

For the brightness, try to adjust it from your keyboard by hold down the "Fn" (function key) and press the up/down brightness key (example image)

None of the above has worked. For audio it says - the windows audio service is not is not started. And system error 1068 has occurred.
