Graphics Card Compatiblity

Solution
Yes, they are compatible together. It has a PCI-e x16 slot and that's all you need. The type of ram used in a graphics card is unrelated to motherboard compatibility.

You'll also want to ensure your PSU is strong enough to handle a new GPU.

It's actually not a bad model. It's a Corsair TX 650 ..I'm guessing it wouldn't have been the PSU problem. Do you know what other problems are causing my Graphics card to malfunction when I'm playing games?

I was playing CS:GO the other day and all of a sudden the game froze and repeated the last sound over and over again. I've tried to quit the game but nothing to working. Even task manager is not responding. The screen just stayed where it is.

It's hard to diagnose problems like that unfortunately. It could be so many things.

What I'd try
-making sure drivers are up to date
-update bios
-check my temperatures for both cpu and gpu under full load
-unplug and replug the GPU's power supply connections.
-reseat the gpu
-go to memtest.org and check your memory

If that didn't fix me up, I'd start swapping parts out to see what fixes it.

There are programs that will give you the info:

For your cpu temp, download http://www.techpowerup.com/realtemp/ and see what temps it reads when gaming
For your gpu temp, use this: http://www.gputemp.com/ and again, see what it reports when gaming for max temps.
