I was thinking about this one in my gaming build:

However everyone is saying that they wouldn't recommend PowerColor. Which R9 290 would you recommend

More about : 290

I would recommend the Tri-x OC by Sapphire! has excellent cooling and its Factory OC gets it close to a reference R9 290x

nice looking card. I use and have used power color cards still have them. still work. could be a jealousy thing? my observations are that ASUS has a poorer track record but more people swear by those...... the ones made "in house" with those fancy 3 slot thick coolers on them.......... maybe they're fans of the green team and don't want to see you buy a "red" card..?? maybe they tried them in the past and had bad luck?? MSI used to be very, very bad products.

buy what you want. feel good about it. send me one I'll use it.

very good understanding of why people just stick to one manufacturer! but i think the issue may be that with alot of these R9 290s that the fans do little cooling to the card this creates noise and over spinning of fans!,maybe the Powercolor falls in with the rest of the bunch!,just something to think about

Do not get the Power Color they have terrible support and the quite a few of their cards have a coil whine and they run really hot as compared to the major brands, for myself I would get either the Sapphire or the ASUS, Sappire has the best support of the two unless you buy a ASUS / ROG card and they COST A PREMIUM $ good luck on your build!
