Can I use the same type of RAM for all four slots?

I know that the two blue slots should be the same and the two white slots should be the same, but can I just use the same for all four of them?

As long as you don't exceed the maximum supported by the motherboard, yes. In fact it's preferred that all sticks be matched.

Best thing is to get a two stick kit. Less drain on the MC. A 2x4GB or a 2x8GB kit is what most people get. If running windows pro or ultimate you can have up to the full 32GB of memory or more depending on the MB.

Yep, unless running 32GB it's best with a 2 stick set, less stress on the MC (memory controller) (and get a single package of DRAM with the full amount, don't mix packages, it can be problematic)
