Sorry, I see there are hundreds of these threads here. I looked around and could not find anything that seems to fit me.

I'd like to build a gaming pc. This pc will need to run WoW/skyrim and i have no idea where to start. I have not built anything in 10 years. I do not need monitor or OS. My goal budget is 700 but I am willing to go up if need be. I am browsing part picker but have no idea whats what.

My goal is to max out WoW and skyrim and run recently release games smooth. 700 starting budget not firm and only need tower with hardware. thanks

Notice that I picked a GTX 760. Most other guys will say get a 280x but I assure your that this would be the better choice.

Look at the benchmarks for the GTX 760. Go to the second chart and notice that the GTX 760 is the second best rated for Graphics/$.

Charts: http://www.videocardbenchmark.net/gpu.php?gpu=GeForce+GTX+760&id=2561

Thanks and good luck!:)

No 550 would definitely not be enough. They say that the consumption is about 425W. Which is always an estimate. Now PSU's dont run at what they say they will. That 750W has an average output of 90% so it is TECHNICALLY a 675W. Yes you could go with a 650W but I picked the 750 for room for upgrade.

Updated with different PUS:

Your build and esco's build are similar I think. If i went with his gfx card would I still need the higher PSU?

Thanks. I am going to go ahead with your 2nd build and see how it works out for me. I'd like to change the case. What do i need to look for in my new case to make sure everything fits? Is there anything else I need besides monitor, mouse, os and what not to get this thing running?

thanks.

You want it to be about $50 considering your budget. Make sure that it is an ATX case. That is very important. When you pick the case, go to pcpartpicker.com and put all of the parts in. It will say on the screen somewhere if there are any compatibility issues. The case I am getting in the Phantom 410. I love it so much. Also, order a couple of 4 pin fans. I like the LED ones but thats just preference. the z97-A has 4 4pin connectors I think so make sure you dont exceed 4 fans. Good lucky building. Just contact me if you need anything else.
