Hey there,

I can't decide what monitor to buy, and I really can't make up my mind between these two.

On one had, the Asus VG248QE has a max refresh rate of 144Hz, so with the appropriate graphics card (a GTX 770 playing @ 1080p) should give me smoother animations and less blur or ghosting. But I'm not so sure about the picture quality when it comes to contrast and colors. I know it's 3D ready, but 3D gaming is dead, isn't it?.

But the BenQ RL2460HT is supposed to be specially made for gaming, and even though it's only 60Hz it has high response times, HDMI Out, reduced blue tones to minimize eye strain and so on.

They are both around the same price range, so please help me out.

You need to work out whether you want 144Hz or 60Hz. Also 1080 or 1440. Also TN or IPS panel, etc etc.

You can't compare monitors with different specs like that.

Compare the BenQ with ASUS VE248H instead.

Oops, didn't mean to choose that as the solution.

And, what are you talking about?

They are both TN 1080p, did you check their specs?

And, that's basically what I'm asking here. What's better, the Asus 144Hz or the BenQ's gaming features?

Why stop there. Try an IPS 1440p if you just want best.

If the asus and benq are the same price but the benq is higher refresh rate then go for it.

1440p is really out of my budget. Highest I can go is $250.

And is that based solely on the refresh rate? You didn't take any of the other features or specs into account?
