GTA 4 wont launch

I just bought and downloaded GTA IV from steam but it wont work. Once i launch it i am asked to sign into social club and when i do it says login successful and then closes the windows and does nothing. I have downloaded games for windows marketplace but that didn't change anything. It seems that GFWM doesn't detect the game because nothing shows up when i open it. this could be because all my steam games are stored on a separate drive. Any help is appreciated.

GTA 4 for PC was poorly optimized and has loads of problems. I've actually heard of others having the exact same problem you are. Try updating your video drivers and see if that helps.

look over the other topics as well to improve your experience. a hassle, yes, but as mentioned, GTAIV was a horrible, horrible console port. also, if i recall, i don't think you'll need GFWL or it's ilk , now that it's in the process of shutting down.... i think.
