I'm looking for a new graphics card upgrade from my old GTX 560 Ti.

-Generally my system is an i5 2500k , 8gb ram, ocz zs 750w, and I have a ssd. Solid build already.

-I currently game at 2560x1440 or 1440p, so its becoming very hindered in the gaming world.

-Looking for a good upgrade that can handle this resolution and is noticeable from the old card.

-I'm looking to spend around 300 dollars (CAD) but can be swayed if the choice is solid.

-So, should I wait for this gtx 800 series that is being thrown around for the next couple months or years end, or should I just settle down and buy a gtx 760/770 or r9 series?

well the gtx 8xx series will take a whie before it arrives but you're still the one who can call the shot, 7xx or r9 2xx series are good options too since youre coming from a gtx 560 so performance gains would be definitely noticable, personally i would recommend an r9 270x hawk from msi these card is so freakin awesome it can play all games i throw in at 1440p (single monitor) but if i have a spare cash i wouldve choose the gtx 760 hawk, i also upgraded from an asus gtx 560 direct cu II, so i can vouch that youll get higher framerates if youll upgrade to an r9 270x/gtx 760 hawk or higher model cards.
re the gtx 8xx series, in my own belief this series would be special, because remember when nvidia released the 8800-series
that series remained king of the hill for 2 years ati-amd wasnt able to compete with that series for quite some time , so now the 8 series is coming again i believe nvidia is cooking up a beast of a gpu. so its up to you if you can wait for the 8xx series and besides by thge time the 8xx series are released newer games would be avail too so its a win win situation. inb the meantime just lower the reolution of the games that youre playing and turn off some eye candy to get higher framerates with your gtx 560.
cheers
