Computer Build Problems

I have decided that I want to finally build my own computer.

HOWEVER! I have a problem.

The entire build is rather pricy and gathering the money for all of it will take a while.

So my question is, should I buy the components all together, or can I buy them separately and work my way towards getting all of them?

This would really help me.

My opinion is you should set a budget (say about $1000) and then when you already have the money, see what you can get for that amount of money. Because pc technology is fast and if you save money for today's hardware, maybe by the time you have the money, it will already be outdated.
