computer build help

i just powered up my build for the first time to see if everything is working and it turns on and lights up and everything but it also sends off a alarm like noise and im not sure whats causing it...any help?

okay so i found the cause of it, the hard drive light is red instead of green...what should i do?

We'll need a little more info here, what are you build specs? Often the CPU led is a single color (red most common) - alarm noises at first boot are usually related to the CPU fan not being plugged into the CPU fan header (or not all the way in). There may be other causes though - the build info should help

Check to see if the CPU fan spins up when starting - in the mean time I'm still perusing your mobo manual

Arrgh, the manual was of no help. I did check my Gigabyte board (GA-Z87X-UD5H) and my CPU light is lit red so that seems to be right. I think I'll have you go through this thread for troubleshooting http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/261145-31-perform-ste... it is a checklist type thing so go through and confirm each step before continuing to the next (even the obvious things).
