What will happen if you remove old windows patches?

Can someone tell me what would happen if you removed old windows update patches? This is to recover SSD space instead of buying larger SSD.
They are expensive down under where I live.

Depends on what kinds of patches you're looking to uninstall. Uninstalling them shouldn't affect your windows functionality however if they are something like security patches you may leave yourself vulnerable to issues.
