MSI Z87-G45 Lan/Usb Help needed.

Hello,

So yesterday i massively upgraded my pc with the following components:

MSI Z87-G45
Intel Core i5-4670K
GeForce GTX 780 3GB (Classified)

and kept my old Ram,Hd's PSU. and i am using windows 8.1

The main problems i am having are as follows:

1. I am unable to get the usb ports to recognize most things i plug in. This included a USB flash drive and a wireless network stick. I tried using my Razer Blackwidow in one of those ports, and it lit up during boot but when it got to the windows login it powered off.

2. I am unable to install any Lan items from the mobo factory disc. The option to install the LAN drivers are greyed out on the disc menu, and when i search for them they will not install. Now i've found them online and downloaded them to a Usb Drive, but i can't use that because the USB drive won't be recognized by windows.

Any help on these issues would be so greatly appreciated, i am getting terribly frustrated and don't know what to do.

I have checked the Bios and it appears to be current, i have also reset the Mobo battery at the request of MSI.

Try reinstalling the chipset and USB3 drivers

If oyu ahve to, load them onto the drives using another computer

Either drivers failed to install properly using install or mb is messed up
  2. Is it at all possible that it could just be this mobo and windows 8.1 not playing nice together? i have a Win7 disc i could use for a fresh install, but i don't want to do it if it won't make any difference.
  3. the board is 8.1 certified so it should include everything nesscary
  4. ok shoot. you know i'm looking in my device manager and i am not even seeing a LAN device in there. I am really starting to think this Mobo may be a bum board.
