So I'm making the switch from console gaming and quite terrified as I'm quite the novice outside of standard workstation usage. With it being my first gaming PC and money being a constraint, I'm looking for the option to finance. Thay being said, I want to stick with the AlienWare type deals at first... The x51 was cheap enough and seemed to have decent ratings. I'd be playing Elderscrolls primarily, maybe WoW. Honestly, I don't know what I'm looking for here. Help? I would do laptop or desktop, prefer under $1,000 USD. I get most of the specs... I'm just a little confused on the FPS and graphics card. Guessing that doesn't correlate to console gaming. : / I'll sacrifice quality, assuming it's not pixilated garbage sacrifice :)  for the cheaper price.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Cheers.

I think with Alienware, you are paying for something other than performance and laptops just add on $$$ because they're laptops.

You want something with an Intel I5 CPU or AMD FX 8320 and a decent GPU like GTX760, 770 or R9-280, 280x and 8GB RAM.

Why not build your own computer?
If money is a constraint like you said, you'll be going in the wrong direction with Alienware. With Alienware, you're paying an extra premium for the name "Alienware" rather than performance. By building your own, you make sure that you're not paying the extra premium for the name, but rather for the performance.

This could be heavily adjusted to fit your needs , but just giving you an example of what it might look like.
I'm 100% certain it would kick the crap out of any $1,500-2000 alienware computer :p

Edit: with many $750-1000 rigs today you don't ever have to settle for "pixelated garbage graphics" for as long as you own the computer :)
