Power conectivity problem in my asus motherboard

Actually its not a prob but confusion.i have a smps of 24 pin and 4 pin extra ..but my nu motherboard has 8 pins besides 24 pins.can i continue t use the same smps or no?if i can use then please mention the place to connect the four pin.(top or bottom)..:)

look at your power supply cables. see if there two black four pin cables. a lot of times they clip together to make an 8 pin plug. if your pc a older unit and only has 4 pin only the asus mb 8 pin plug will work with plugging the 4 pin into one port that it fits into.
