Not sure if this is the correct Sub-Forum but I have a simple question

What the highest resolution and FPS capable of being put out by a HDMI video output?

FPS there is no FPS limit for HDMI or most other digital outputs. The highest resolution supported by HDMI 1.3 is 2560x1600. With the release of HDMI 2.0, there will be support for 4k resolutions soon. However, if you use 2 HDMI cables to input output to 4k monitor it will still run the monitor at 60 hz. otherwise, if you use 1 HDMI cable, it will only go up to 30 hz refresh rate.

Highest fps is a bit academic...you mean max data throughput?, highest resolution? - Google 'HDMI maximum resolution'... I know I know....time taken to post vs Google etc etc (unless this a quiz ;) ...erm...back to Google :) )

Oh sorry I'm not a Tech person so I wasnt sure what it was called but I meant whats the max refresh rate that HDMI can output. So even if I have a 60hz monitor HDMI will be limited to 30hz with a single connection? And would it be possible to explain how you connect 2 HDMI cables to run at 60hz? Is it done through the PC because my monitor has 2 HDMI ports but whenever I connect another HDMI it simply ask if I want to change to that "Source"

No sorry I should've made this clearer, HDMI will output however much your monitor can recieve. It is when you use 4k displays that it requires two HDMI cables to output 60hz.
