How to virus protect a Network Share Drive

We have a Network Share Drive which is doing a very efficient job of serving up viruses. How to protect it? I thought to attach it to our Windows Server 2008R, but how?

  1. What problems are you encountering exactly?
  2. The problem is a stupid enough one. The drive has a cord for power and one for the LAN. I am too much of a newb to know how to make this a drive of the server as though it were in the box or attached by USB. Without making it part of the server (or some machine) I don't know how to protect it with a virus scan.

    Any help is appreciated.
    Thank you,
    Claudia
  3. Could you link me with the specific drive you purchased?
