Hello . I am looking forward to buy a new graphics card . I have hd 5450 2 gb . I am looking to buy the AMD R7 250 . Should I buy the 1 GB GDDR5 version or 2 GB GDDR 3 version . I live in India so in the Online stores I have these available. I want to play GTA V , Watch Dogs etc with 17+ FPS
on low settings. So which one would you recommend.

The 1GB GDDR5 version will outperform the 2GB card and would be the better choice.

R7 250 1GB GDDR5 will be able to play those games but which CPU and which PSU do you have?
If you don't have a good PSU then you'll have to buy a new PSU before you buy a GPU

Best Bang for your buck if you can get one, R7 265. they are between $160 and $190 CND I don't know how much hardware goes for closest to you. the R7 250 is a good deal , as rolli59 said the 1GB GDDR5 will perform better in game over the 2GB DDR3. i think You can get 2GB of GDDR5 though with the R7 250. If you really want to enjoy Watch Dogs then your looking at least a r7 260...after patches.

Actually I want to get the 2 GB ddr5 version. But I am afraid in my country it is not available at the moment. Buying it from other countries will cost shipping charges and much more.

My specs.
450 Watt PSu
Asus p8h61-M Motherboard.(pci-e 3.0 ready)
Intel Core i3 3210 @ 3.2 GHz processor.
8 GB ram
1 TB hard disk.

Now can you guys please tell me with my current specs r7 250 is a good choice to play those games avobe 17 + FPS . My sole purpose of upgrading my GPU is playing GTA V ( coming this autumn ) . Another thing. With my current card I can play Watch dogs with High textures which requires 12 GB memory. So will getting an r7 250 1 GB GDDR5 disable me of playing the game in high textures. That is also my concern . Which one then 1 GB ddr5 or 2 GB ddr3

The R7 250 isnt very good to be honest. I would look at the GTX 750 Ti if you can get the budget for it.

Never get a DDR3 graphics card, the memory is just far too slow for GPUs.

If your planning to use PCI-3.0 the Intel i3 3210 pci-e uses revision 2.0, which i think is odd as the ivy bridge i5 and i7 use 3.0. Ivy Bridge i3 3200 series are good CPUs and fast. Mind you more demanding games like Watch dogs will work quite a bit better on a Intel quad core processor ie: i5, i7, Sandy bridge and newer....Anyway more to the point you can still game with an i3 3220. And I imagine You could use a R9 270x or GTX 760 or GTX 660 with the CPU not holding the one of the graphics cards back. Mind in CPU bound scenarios you may get a bit of a hit on Mid-to High range graphics card. but If your buying a Graphics card do not aim low. Get the absolute best GPU you can afford. PSU is another one to get the best you can afford as well, I am not saying go and buy a AX1200i or even HX850 but aim for 600w from a quality vendor ie: Seasonic,Corsair, Coolermaster, ect. You can get a better CPU later if you feel it is needed.

Actually I do not have the money to but that high end cards like R9 290X or GTX 750 or 780 . I am a budget roughly about 150 $ . I am getting a huge discount on Amazon . The XFX R7 250 1 GB GDDR5 which sells for $250 is now for sell on about $125 . So I want to go for a card that would deliver acceptable performance at a reasonable price. I like to play every game . I play them for fun . So getting 30 - 40 FPS does not matter to me the most. I am just happy if I could play every game at 15 or 16 + FPS . The thing I want to say is that I love playing games more than anything but I do not always want Ultra Graphics or whatever. I am just happy if I can play the games with medium to low settings with anti - aliasing , ambient occlusion etc off , as I do not really want those features. As for games like GTA 5 and Watch Dogs . The experience and game features count more than the graphics. No matter how much better graphics GTA IV or Watch Dogs had GTA San Andreas will always be my favorite open world game. So consider these options and suggest me a cheap but decent entry level gaming Graphics Processing Unit.

Sorry. I did not know the Exact budget you are working with. Which price did you say for the R7 250 1GB GDDR5? $250 or $125?? I know on newegg.ca they are around $110, newegg.com they are about $90. I forget where you said you live so prices may vary. The R9 270 is a good price and very good performer Starting at $150-$160. I can't stress enough that 17-18 Fps is not going to be satisfactory for anyone trying to game especially when your hand picking the components. You don't need a graphics card to game at 20fps. You could go with a AMD A10-7850K, Not even use a dedicated GPU and still get 40+ FPS at 720p for most new games.
What do you have right now to work with?. CPU/PSU and motherboard specifically

Hey I already said about my specs in my previous posts. But once again I am posting.

Core i3 3210 @ 3.2 GHz
8 GB Ram
Ati Radeon HD 5450 2 GB
Asus p8h61-m motherboard
450 Watt Psu..
As for the R9 270 . Sorry it costs about $237 in my country , India. Here's the page for india's top shopping website.
http://www.flipkart.com/search?q=r9+270&as=off&as-show=...

And here's the link for the r7 250 page

http://www.flipkart.com/search?q=r7+250&as=on&as-show=o...

And one more question .
If I get the r7 250 . Will I be able to run GTA V at 17+ FPS. If yes ,are you absolutely sure. If not please suggest be a better card between $100 to $140 .

I doubt it. The r7 250 is a crap card, it will not perform well. The 260x is much better if you can afford it?

I saw on Game debate and it says I can run GTA V on medium to high settings on r7 250 1 GB DDR5 and along with my current cpu, ram etc. And as you say it is a crap card. But compared to the crap I have right now , i.e. HD 5450 2 GB , it should be much better.
But yes I will try to buy the r7 260x . But at the moment with my tight budget , 250 is the one I have hopes for.
As you can see , our country India has big currency issues. A difference of $15 in USA means a difference of Rs 1000 in our country . So you can now pretty well understand that in my country having $140 and having $160 is a huge difference . So consider this factors as well .

Yes your motherboard is compatible with the gpu and from what ive seen the r7 250 does not require an 6 pin power connector, unless you buy the 250x version, so you dont need to concern about the psu.Oh and btw the r7 250 is the difference between low end gpus and high end gpus in my opinion, ive seen that it can run tomb raider on ultra at 1080 p at about 25 to 38 fps, and battlefield 4 on ultra at 1080p with a minimum of 15 fps on very poor system. With your pc you would get very fine results, maybe even on gta sa with enb series icenhancer and many many vehicle mods as well as vegetation packs and hd roads textures.
