Can someone explain the difference in there CPUs? I dont understand why FX-6300 is compared to an i3 when its clock at speeds similar to an i5 and has more cores and this trend continues with most of the popular AMD CPUs.

And also another quick question. Whats an APU in the quickest way possible?

Because software developers are "lasy" and only focus on single threading their apps. And, since intel has a way better (i can say arround 25 -40%, deppends on the software) more single core performance, there is you explanation.
And the i3 is in the same price range as the FX 63xx.
