So about a year ago I converted my 2012 MacBook pro to Windows (I removed the osx partition) and now I would like to convert it back to mac osx. It did not come with a disk so I don't actually have the operating system to install it. Is there a way to convert it back to osx or am I stuck with it running on windows now.

the OSx partition would have had the recovery built into it but you wipped that instead of dualbooting it with bootcamp and keeping the OSx on there. I don't know if apple supplies an image you can burn to a disc or buy from them or what but that's about your only option.

Your model should support Internet Recovery. http://support.apple.com/kb/ht4718

No need for boot media of any kind, just a network connection. I've used it a few times and it works a treat.
