Hi I have the two boards, one is a Pro and one is a R2.0.

The Pro is working fine whilst the R2.0 bought as faulty does not.

The fans turn on and the board LEDs light but I get no POST and no beeps.

The built in USB BIOS reflash seems to find the USB stick as the stick LED flashes but the process fails.

I have been thinking the issue is a bad flash and was wondering about taking the BIOS chip from my working board to test on the faulty one.

Do I have to remove the battery backup battery?

Will the CMOS settings on the working board clear even if I don't have to?

Thanks.

Like I said above...I bought the motherboard as faulty (I knew it was faulty).

I got it very cheap and just trying to see if I can get it working.

Has anyone got any answers regarding the BIOS chip swap.

Thanks.

I see "The Pro is working fine whilst the R2.0 bought as faulty does not." The 'bought' is not very clear to me.

With this, It can the weirdest of issues, it is faulty, yes, but where the issue actually is who knows.

Do you have any other info that the user you bought it from told you?

I'm sorry it wasn't very clear to you and I really don't want to argue semantics with you except the PRO and the R2.0 are two different boards....Maybe I should have made that clearer.

Also I wasn't asking a "Why is it not working" type of question

Ok I'll admit that the question is probably more suitable to an electronics engineer....

The question was really on the aspect of removing a ROM chip from one board (the working one) and moving it to the other non-working one because as explained, I believe the non-working board isn't working because of it's corrupted ROM chip.

Thanks anyway.

Cheers.
