What I have is a new computer.
500 GB SSD
New 2TB SATA HD
I have a new copy of Windows 7 full install
Really all new.
The old HD is a good one but the Windows has been upgraded for years from
Vista Home I think.
I have had to redo this over the years and is a real Pain cause you have to go back to the beginning and update, update, update.
I want to install the NEW Windows 7 Ultimate to the new SSD. This to be the Boot drive.
The new SATA3 HD for most everything else.
The old drive has my Anti-viruse, Office, mail family pictures.
I want to keep these on one drive or the other.
Reformatted the old drive and get rid of all old windows.
My question is
After I install the new Windows on the SSD and get it all updated.
Set the BIOS to see the old HD.
Will it work as is with the new drive?
Can I then go into the old drive and get the programs I want?
There is 5 years of redundant stuff on the old HD.
I will back up but then---I get it all back.
Trying to avoid this.
I try to think I have a clue but probably don't.
Thanks in advance
Mike
