Hey guys.

I'm using a intel i5 4670k processor, with a 770 gtx graphics card. It's a new build and I wanted to ensure all my mobo slots are working, and this includes the hdmi slots. I know most of you will say I'll never use the onboard graphics, but I want to ensure they work incase I need to RMA my graphics card (showing slight artefacts on some games).

When I try to plug in a hdmi cable from my monitor to my gfx card, it works perfectly, but not when I plug it into my motherboard's hdmi slot. I figured I'd need to download the Intel Graphics Accelerator driver for my motherboard, but when I do this I get an error saying: "This computer does not meet the minimum requirements for installing the software".

I've downloaded the drivers from both asus AND intel, and both give the same error. There's no option on my bios to switch to onboard (atleast I can't find any with ease).

Any tips on what I can do?

Cheers.

Have you tried plugging the monitor into the motherboard with the GPU uninstalled/removed ?

When you install an external graphics card, the integrated GPU gets switched off. Only when you remove the Graphics card from PCIe slot of motherboard, you can use the iGPU and there's not any switch to use iGPU while external Graphics card is plugged in the PCIe slot.

In bios the option is called igpu multi monitor or something along those line as you didn't mention your mobo. The igpu is disabled when a dgpu is in and this option turns it on so you can use both. The error you are getting is because it's disabled. You could always try taking the gpu out.

I've removed the power cables and tried that - do I need to completely remove it from its pci slots?

You need to completely remove it from PCIe slot to use iGPU or alternatively try what k1114 has mentioned

I can't seem to find any option on my bios. I'm using an asus maximus vii ranger. Sorry, should have specified.

It might be that your motherboard doesn't supports it or explore some other similar options in BIOS to enable multiple monitor with iGPU

Just remove the card from PCIe slot, make sure your motherboard's HDMI slot is working. You'll never need iGPU with GTX 770, if you want to run multiple monitors then GTX 770 will handle it better.

All intel 9 series support it. Advanced > system agent config > graphics config > cpu graphics multi monitor

He's not wanting to run multiple monitors, please read the op.

I've found the option and changed it to "cpu" but still doesn't pickup onboard.

There isn't a cpu option so I'm assuming you are selecting the wrong option. The options are enabled or disabled.

There was "cpu", "gpu", or auto on my bios. I changed it to cpu, and now I get "No signal detected" when I plug the cable into my mobo or my gfx card, tried different cables too...

That's the primary display option. What you want is below that, it's called "CPU Graphics Multi-Monitor."

It was primary display that I was looking for, I set it to CPU and I got the No Signal Detected, but after 5 mins or so i was up in windows, and after restarting a few times I've managed to get to the bios, and I'll just keep it on auto.
