Recently got the parts for my new system.
Got a 120GB Samsung 840 EVO SSD and a 1TB WD Blue as my HDD.

I plan to primarily use the system for Photo Editing. Hence, OS and other programs would go on the SSD.

Question is, the User Manual i got from Samsung shows that i need to have OS installed on an HDD. Then i need to connect the SSD via SATA-to-USB to get the OS cloned onto it before i put it in my machine. Is this really the process ? Or can i just plug everything up and install the OS directly onto the SSD.

Solution
The process and instructions from Samsung speak to migrating from the old drive to the new drive.

A clean install on the new SSD is by far the better procedure.
