Hello guys, I have a 3770k which I was running @4,6 ghz for some time, suddenly my computer would not turn on, so I did a clear cmos. I tried putting back the same values that I had in before (4,6ghz, 1.275v, xmp profile 2@2133), but after I hit save and reboot, my computer will just shut down and won't let itself be turned on, unless I do another clear cmos.

Currently running my computer with the OC Genie @ 4,2 but I really would like to go back to 4,6.
Hope you can help me guys
Didi

Looks like you have an unstable OC. You need to increase Vcore or reduce your multiplier. Also 2133 MHz on the RAM could be causing problems.

1) Reduce your Multi to 4.4 and try again,
2) Reduce your RAM to 1600 MHz,
3) IF 4.4 works, try 4.5,
4) If 4.4 does not work, try 1.285 V. Vcore, increase in 0.010 v. until it works up to a max of 1.300 v.

Gradually increase your multi +Vcore until you find your max stable OC.

That is strange.

I would try rebooting and checking your memory settings in the BIOS to be sure that they have not changed. Also, be sure to set the Kingston recommended timings for your specific DIMMs.

Did you buy the 16 GB of RAM as a single 16 GB kit or 2 - 8 GB kits or what?

i've bought the 4x4 variant, and they should support xmp up to 2400mhz, so i don't think my ram's the problem. But i've been searching in the internet and a lot of people seem to have this same problem, everything is fine but if they do a cold boot it just won't boot, some suggest that one should change the battery on the motherboard.
But it doesn't always seem to work so it is more of a unsolved mysterie. T_T

Glad to see that you got it figured out. That is unusual for a Seasonic PSU to cause problems.

Thanks for letting us know!
