FX8320 running hot after changing thermal paste?

I've a FX 8320 Running at 4.6Ghz with a CM V6 GT Cooler.
Up until now my temps were 30c idle, 62c prime95.
Today i decided to buy a new thermal paste since the one
i originally applied was poorly applied, and now after setting
the new one in, usually it takes for prime95 to make the cpu
hit 62c for like 1 minute, now it takes 1 second and its already
up to 65c, if i wait 1 minute it goes up to 74c.(doesn't fail tho)
The idle state however, is at 30c just like before.

Now its summer and I'm not really sure what the temps in the room
were while making the tests but I'm pretty sure it was slow as hell for
the cpu to jump to 60c+ with prime95, now it just rockets up to 65.

Oh and in games like battlefield with mantle, AVG temps are 60-65c
which is not normal,

First i tried that method where you put the paste that looks like a "X"
then i saw it was reaching 65C too fast so what i did was, i took it apart again,
cleaned it all up, and applied the paste again in that dot way, where you make
a little dot, made a thin layer this time cuz last time it was too much, then i
tightened the cooler to its max, and it still does the same thing.
What are the chances the paste was poorer than the last one, the last one was
the one that came with the cpu, it was on the cooler i took it off and i applied it.

When you mounted it, did you go step by step in the manual?

There's nothing complicated i've done it many times, its just that the thermal paste may be
shittier than the one i had before.. at least thats my theory, i kinda screwed myself up.

Get some different thermal paste such as artic silver 5, artic mx-4, or IC diamond and see if you have better temperatures. Otherwise, it is an installation issue. But from what it sounds like, it is an installation failure on your end. My friend had the exact same issue.

I would if i could but i have no more money to spend, and i still wonder why is my idle the exact same temp as
before changing the thermal and the load temp is not.

The first one i applied was a failure from my end which i knew, but now with this new paste that costs like 2$,
On 2 tries it acts shitty, one with more paste, one with less, cant really believe its a failure from my side because
when i take the cooler off it looks exactly like the pics on the tutorials i see online.

Nonono I meant a failure in how you mounted the cooler, not on how you applied thermal paste. Go back to the manual, and step by step carefully install the cooler.

I can't fail there because i have taken it on and off like 20 times now, ive this cooler since 2009 and there
is no way you can install it wrong, its made for brainless people :\

I'll buy Arctic MX-4 in a week or so, will get back with results, i don't trust this cheap
2$ paste. Tried to reapply the paste again for the 3rd time temps are absolutely the same,
too much, too little or almost none, absolutely the same thing. Guess its the paste's fault.

It takes about a week for the thermal paste to take full effect. Your temps should drop up to 5c after a week of regular use.
