I have a really big porbleme here, last moth i took off my CPU's heatsink to clean it, it was so dirty, i have an intel core 2 quad, and when i wanted to place the heatsink, the fricking push pins broke, 3pins broke and 1 still good, it's so annoying, made me very angry and made my CPU heating ALOT ( 59C when pc idle, 65 to 80 when browsing )

i read on a forum that removing the heatsink from it place require new thermale paste, so i checked out the thermale paste, and it was dry.

I have another heatsink that has 1push pin borken
it may be good if i replaced the 3push pin broken heatsink with the 1push pin broker and replace the thermale paste ?
i'm really confused if it's the thermale paste or the broken push pins that made my CPU heating
Please some really quick answer, i don't wanna fry my CPU :(

can't you swap the push pins? ............ and take a look at how they operate. you need to twist them so they have free movement. then you insert them through the board........... snap/click. plenty of info out there....... pdf's/vids.

stop using the machine until you remedy the situation.
