Hey guys I need some help
This is my first post here so if I'm asking or posting this at a wrong place I'm sorry
My laptop is a k53sd i3 4gb ram
I was running a Windows 8 without uefi and the comp was lagging a bit in daily work also so I formatted my comp with Windows 8 again. After which I installed a generic driver pack that I had downloaded and all seemed well enough till I plugged in my external powered USB hub. The laptop just shut down, I booted it up again and tried and it again shut down as soon as the USB came in contact with the port. But now the laptop wouldn't turn on unless I took out the battery for a bit and then put it back in. Annoyed I went to my friend thinking it might be a driver issue. But then the laptop wouldn't start. Was just stuck at that blinking cursor after asus logo. Turned out that one of the two left ports had to be in use otherwise it wouldn't boot. I still reformatted it and did a clean install of win 8 again but the USB ports were really screwed they still wouldn't let me boot without anything connected already, and the top right one just goes haywire if nothing is connected to it, like keeps registering connected and disconnected and the lower one only connects if something is put in the top one. The USB 3 port on the left seems to be working just fine and the audio ports are working perfectly but the USB ports are just driving me nuts, and I need the USB hub to work but it won't detect on either of the two only on the 3rd.i need the space USB slots. What do I do, i read somewhere that discharging the battery might do it, haven't tried that yet. Will after I finish this post, but I'm really bummed here and wish u guys would reply ASAP. Thanks in advance

a generic driver pack

I would get my drivers from the asus website.

I did afterwards to see if it was a driver issue but there aren't any USB 2.0 drivers available on the site

From your Manual

Intel INF is in Chipset, but ATKACPI bit harder to find...
Got it, but only in Windows 7 64bit Utilities section, advise you install by Rt click .exe.file and choose Troubleshoot Compatibility.
