Hi All,

I am very new to this forum. My existing graphic card is not working. I want to buy a new one. Please recommend a good graphic card . My mother board is DG41RQ( core 2 duo, 4gb ram DDR2, SMPS power 250v). My main purpose is browsing and occasionally plays game. I searched internet and got confused. If you have any specific model recommendations that would be great.

Thanks in advance.

Chandra

What graphics card were you using?
What is your budget?
Full size case or slimline?
What brand of 250w power supply?
What resolution do you play at? 720p or 1080p?

The existing one is integrated with mother board DG41RQ. I guess the default one. No idea I need to check on this. This mother board has a PCIex16 slot. My budget is max 5000 Rs. I have Iball SMPS. Resolution 1080p.

If my conversion is correct, that's about $80-$100. For anything you plan to play games with you definitely want something with GDDR5 and 128 bit bus. Whatever you can get for your budget with those specs will be good. Something like a GTX650(now rebranded GT740) or radeon r7 250.

Also looks like cards are higher compared to the conversion rate compared to the US, so you may need to squeeze just a little more money into it, but for a dd5 card it will be worth it. Something like these.

Also, there isn't much you can do with that power supply as far as a dedicated video card goes if it's 250w. You'll probably need to get a new one.
